Recipe for "Windy Stomach"
Having "windy stomach" can happen to anyone, and the worse case is it can actually cause constipation and gastric pain.

But the thing is many people doesn't know how to get the wind out properly, though some use ginger and peppermint herbal tea to ease the stomach discomfort and solve minor "windy issues".

Below is a traditional remedy, originally talored for confinement women, but it has proven reliagle for those who has serious stomach wind in them. My mom's best friend was kind enough to share it with me.

Ginger Chicken
Cater for confinement, release stomach wind. Heat-ty dish.

Ingredients:
- 1/4 chicken ( prefer fresh and small chicken)
- 1 large piece of ginger ( wash, dry and slice it thinly)
- 1 stalk scallion
- 1 cup of water ( cold clear water, healthy water preferred )
- 1 tbsp wine ( brandy or any preferred wine )
- 1 tsp. sesame oil and 1 tsp. peanut oil
- Optional: Black fungus, a few pieces (soaked and thinly sliced)
Note: Confinement women please do not include peanut oil

Method:
Clean chicken, remove all oily parts. Chop into bite size.
Heat clean wok over medium heat and place ginger in it.
Cook ginger until water is dry and add one teaspoon sesame and one teaspoon peanut oil and fry for one minute.
Add chicken and stir fry for three to five minutes until the meat is white, add scallion and one cup of water. Cover and bring soup to a boil about five mins.

Turn off fire and add one tablespoon wine/brandy. Drink it hot and if you can eat the ginger and scallion, do so. It is good if you consume everything. You can take it with rice, it is a meal by itself. DO NOT ADD SALT!!!

Personal note:
This soup is good for people young and old who has some 'wind' and have no appetite. It really works and during winter too make as it warms up your body immediately.

If it is too heaty, cut down on the ginger. You can use less.
